TRANSPORT
There are many challenges in automating winding machines in the repair industry. One such automation area is the automation of wire unwinding from a source spool. This article presents a control circuit for such a drive. Practical use has demonstrated the reliability and ease of use of this automation in repair applications.
This article describes an algorithm developed by the authors for constructing a locomotive crew assignment schedule based on a generated commuter train turnaround schedule. The developed algorithm minimizes the total downtime of locomotive crews while waiting for a train, thereby reducing their staffing and the costs of organizing service on sections with heavy commuter train traffic.
This article presents an experimental evaluation of the parameters of a prototype autonomous power supply system for a three-element cargo truck designed for mounting a flatcar with large-capacity refrigerated containers. This system is intended to determine the feasibility of eliminating diesel fuel used to power refrigeration and heating units during transportation.
The sedimentation process is characteristic of virtually all types of wastewater treatment, and this article examines the physical principles behind its implementation. A physical model and mathematical description are provided.
In transport engineering, the use of 3D printing has reached an industrial scale, accelerating rolling stock repairs and reducing delivery times for certain scarce spare parts. However, repair facilities implementing 3D printing are experiencing part detachment from the 3D printer bed during printing. The objective of this study is to find a universal means of fixing parts to the 3D printer bed.
This article examines the technical condition of the locomotive fleet and the operational reliability of traction motors (TMs). A method is proposed for calculating the optimal TM warm-up regime before placing them in a warm depot during winter. This method is based on calculating the required warm-up duration and the optimal current level to prevent damage to the insulating materials.
MODELLING OF TRANSPORT PROCESSES
This article describes the author’s concept for an intelligent assistant for registration of general-form acts, focusing on methods for structural-algorithmic synthesis of the content of primary documents within the intelligent system.
This paper develops an approach to mathematical modeling of empty car distributions generated by port departure stations. A transport logistics problem of finding optimal locations for temporary empty car staging stations is solved by incorporating the classical geometric concept of the Fermat-Torricelli point into the research.
This article examines the emergence of EDPs as a result of the evolution of management and commercial processes in rail transport, their development in a historical context, and specific examples from both domestic and international railways. It provides an overview of the current state of EDPs, key development trends, and identifies challenges and risks. The role of EDPs as an integrator of multimodal transport systems is also discussed. Based on this analysis, the author draws conclusions demonstrating that the emergence of EDPs is a natural result of the industry’s evolution.
This article discusses the development of a web service for monitoring and forecasting water levels in rivers and reservoirs near transport infrastructure facilities. The results of developing water level forecasting models based on machine learning algorithms are presented. These models can be successfully integrated into a web service system intended for use by management personnel in the decision-making process.
The relevance of this study stems from the development of transport and logistics infrastructure in border areas in the context of cargo flow reorientation and competition in the logistics services market. The aim of this article is to develop a concept for an information and analytical system for multi-criteria assessment. The study is based on combinatorics and systems analysis methods. A modeling calculation algorithm has been developed, the architecture of the software package has been developed, and test modules of the system have been presented, demonstrating the feasibility of the proposed concept.
SAFETY OF HUMAN ACTIVITY
This article examines the use of medical trains in modern conditions and their role in emergency response systems. Medical trains enable the rapid evacuation of victims, the establishment of fully functional medical care centers, and the maintenance of continuous treatment in areas with limited infrastructure.
Occupational injuries are a significant problem in the railway industry. Targeted preventive measures are currently being developed to reduce them and improve risk management. Key to this approach is a thorough understanding of the causes of injuries, including the relationship between employee job functions and the occupational risks they face.
The proposed approach allows for a generalized assessment of the risk of developing a health loss for a group of workers under specific working conditions over varying periods of time, as well as an individual risk assessment for workers with different occupational histories. During the testing phase, the method allows for the assessment of factors that lead to work capacity limitations.
This article examines centralized and decentralized water supply systems operating within railway boundaries, as well as the quality of water at the sources. Organizational and technical measures are presented to reduce the volume of water supply that does not meet hygienic standards.
An analysis of factors influencing the working conditions and safety of workers in the transport engineering industry is conducted. A description of the research results on the impact of harmful substances, noise, and vibration is provided. An effective system for minimizing the impact of hazardous and harmful factors at mechanical engineering enterprises is presented, enabling monitoring of working conditions and increasing enterprise efficiency.
